Chris Mercan cuts for the future! A true artist, she loves to create looks that balance classic with edgy, emphasizing natural texture, and easy-to-manage, effortless style. 

When Chris left Detroit in 2003, her heart was wide open to receive New York City’s unique energy and constant visual stimulation. A talented photographer, Chris’s sharp eye for detail and uncommon beauty landed her numerous photographic apprenticeships. 

Chris began exploring her love of hair at Aveda Soho and spent 9 years as an educator with ARROJO studio NYC.  There she studied precision scissor and razor cutting under masters stylists from Vidal Sassoon, Toni and Guy and Aveda. There, she created her own way of sculpting hair and using color to paint light and shadows creating depth and interest. Whether it’s a classic bob or a fun shag, she loves working with very thick or textured hair creating beautiful shapes that only get better over time.  

Since moving her young family to the Hudson area in 2012, Chris has continued to hone her craft and collaborate with a vast client base as the premier stylist at one of Hudson’s best renowned spas. She’s thrilled to work alongside a community of vibrant creatives at Creative Collective.
